Video highlights of the testing of our BRDE-150 locomotive

Against the backdrop of the beautiful West-Frisian countryside, BRDE-150 locomotive 10133 has successfully completed its final series of test runs. This marks another important milestone in the development of our latest diesel-electric locomotive.

Over the past few weeks, our team has been working extensively on the testing and commissioning of locomotive 10133. After all systems had been thoroughly inspected and the locomotive was fully prepared at our workshop in Warmenhuizen, it was time for the next step: testing on the railway.

For these field tests, the locomotive was transported to Hoorn, where we were able to evaluate its performance under realistic operating conditions. This allowed us to verify that all systems function as intended and to assess how the locomotive performs in day-to-day railway operations. These practical tests are an essential part of the commissioning process before a new locomotive enters service.

Thanks to the excellent cooperation with the Museum Stoomtram Hoorn-Medemblik, we were given the opportunity to use the railway line between Hoorn and Medemblik. This historic route provided the ideal environment for comprehensive testing of the BRDE-150. Its varied track sections allowed us to evaluate the locomotive’s performance under a wide range of operating conditions.

In addition to providing valuable technical insights, the test runs also resulted in some stunning photography and video footage. With the characteristic West-Frisian landscape and beautiful sunny weather as the backdrop, locomotive 10133 looked right at home on the rails.

The successful completion of this testing phase marks another significant step forward for the BRDE-150 project. We would like to thank the Museum Stoomtram Hoorn-Medemblik and everyone involved for their cooperation, dedication and support throughout this test programme.

We look forward to the next stage in the development of locomotive 10133.
